Get startedCode of Conduct & Community Safety
No branded posts. No website promotions. No disguised advertising. No artificial engagement.
CommentQuest exists to connect people who enjoy creating interesting, authentic content with Reddit communities that need great contributions to grow.
We're Reddit users, creators, and moderators ourselves. We manage and collaborate with hundreds of communities across different topics, and we know firsthand how difficult it can be to build a subreddit from scratch.
Our goal is simple: help communities grow through genuinely useful content, interesting discussions, and contributions from real people.
Not advertising. Not spam. Not AI slop. Just people creating content that makes communities better.
We take that responsibility seriously, which is why we've established the following standards for everyone participating in CommentQuest.
1. Our Commitment to Reddit's Policies
Every assignment published through CommentQuest must respect Reddit's policies, the rules of the relevant subreddit, and our Code of Conduct.
We do not allow assignments involving spam, deceptive participation, artificial engagement, or attempts to circumvent Reddit's restrictions.
We also recognize that paying people to create content requires particular care. An assignment isn't automatically compliant just because it's non-promotional or involves real people.
We're committed to reviewing our model, improving our safeguards, and making changes wherever necessary to respect Reddit's policies.
2. Absolutely No Advertising or Promotional Tasks
CommentQuest does NOT allow assignments promoting brands, websites, products, or services.
This includes:
- Branded posts, promotional comments, or website mentions.
- Paid product endorsements, reviews, or testimonials.
- Disguised advertising presented as organic content.
- Fake customer experiences or misleading recommendations.
- Promotional links, referral campaigns, or attempts to generate commercial exposure.
We regularly receive requests from companies interested in promoting their products through our network. That's not what CommentQuest is built for, and these requests are not permitted on our platform.
We have zero tolerance for undisclosed paid advertising.
NEVER accept an assignment asking you to publish an undisclosed advertisement or pretend to be an independent customer.
This applies whether the request comes through CommentQuest, Discord, or private messages.
If you encounter anything like this, please report it immediately to help@commentquest.com.
3. Authentic Content, Creativity, and Independent Participation
One of the most important things about CommentQuest is that we want people to create content they genuinely care about, not simply copy and publish something they're told to post.
Our community includes people with different interests, experiences, and areas of knowledge. We encourage participants to contribute to topics they actually enjoy and understand.
People are welcome, and actively encouraged, to share their own ideas, stories, experiences, and original content.
We sometimes provide content ideas, suggested topics, or example drafts to help people get started, but these are intended as inspiration, not scripts that participants must follow.
We do not want people blindly copying prepared content, pretending to have experiences they haven't had, or participating in discussions they know nothing about.
Our approach is based on a few principles:
- Genuine interests: People should participate in communities and topics they genuinely enjoy or know something about.
- Creative freedom: Participants are encouraged to develop their own ideas, write their own content, and contribute their own perspectives.
- No forced opinions: We do not require participants to express predetermined opinions or pretend to believe something they don't.
- No misleading experiences: Participants must never invent personal stories, qualifications, or product experiences.
- No artificial engagement: We prohibit paid voting, karma farming, coordinated engagement manipulation, and attempts to manufacture popularity.
We absolutely discourage people from participating in assignments simply to publish content they don't understand or have no interest in.
CommentQuest is meant to support genuine creativity and useful contributions, not turn Reddit into a network of scripted posts.
We also recognize that providing creative freedom does not automatically make incentivized content compliant with Reddit's policies. All assignments must still meet our standards, including applicable disclosure requirements and restrictions on coordinated activity.
4. Clear and Transparent Assignments
Every assignment must clearly explain what is being requested, which community it concerns, and any relevant requirements.
We do not allow assignments designed to mislead participants or Reddit users about the purpose of the content.
Participants must never be asked to conceal a commercial relationship, fabricate opinions, or misrepresent their experiences.
Where compensation or another material connection requires disclosure, it must be disclosed. If an assignment cannot be completed transparently and in accordance with Reddit's rules, it must not proceed.
Calling something "organic" does not make otherwise prohibited activity acceptable.
5. Respecting Independent Moderators and Communities
CommentQuest collaborates with hundreds of independently managed subreddits.
Each community has its own moderators, rules, and decisions. We respect that independence.
We do not permit payments, gifts, or favors in exchange for specific moderator actions, including approving or removing posts, pinning content, granting preferential access, or transferring communities.
No assignment should require moderators to compromise their independent judgment or provide special treatment to participants.
Our purpose is to support communities, not interfere with how they are moderated.
6. Our Responsibility Across a Large Network
CommentQuest works with hundreds of independent subreddits, moderators, and contributors.
While we collaborate with these communities, we don't have complete control over every decision their moderators make or everything published within them.
However, we take responsibility for the assignments distributed through CommentQuest and for enforcing our standards across our network.
We review assignments and work to identify requests involving advertising, manipulation, spam, or other activities that violate our policies.
Unfortunately, from time to time, we encounter moderators or community partners who attempt to misuse the platform to distribute promotional assignments or disguised advertisements.
When we identify this behavior, we take action. We have banned moderators and removed community partners from CommentQuest for attempting to introduce advertising or other prohibited activities into our network.
We have no interest in protecting people who try to exploit our platform or put Reddit communities at risk.
We also recognize that, given the number of independent people and communities involved, not every issue will necessarily be caught immediately.
That's why we encourage participants to report suspicious assignments and continuously work to strengthen our review processes.
If Reddit's Trust & Safety team or administrators would find it useful, we are happy to cooperate and share relevant information about confirmed attempts to misuse our platform, subject to applicable privacy and legal requirements.
We want to help identify harmful practices, not enable them.
Our commitment is to prevent misuse wherever possible, act quickly when issues are discovered, and continuously improve our safeguards.
7. Protecting Participants and Their Accounts
No one should be asked to risk their Reddit account by breaking platform rules.
We will never require participants to share their Reddit passwords, provide unauthorized account access, purchase or transfer accounts, or create additional accounts to circumvent restrictions.
Participants can refuse any assignment they believe violates our standards.
You will never be penalized for reporting a suspicious assignment or raising a genuine safety concern.
We cannot guarantee that Reddit will never remove content or restrict an account. Reddit retains full authority over enforcement on its platform.
8. Privacy and Personal Data
We do not sell our users' personal data. Period.
CommentQuest is not a data-selling business. Our purpose is to connect people with communities, not monetize their personal information.
We are committed to protecting participant information, using it responsibly, and maintaining appropriate safeguards.
You can learn more about how we handle personal information in our Privacy Policy.
9. Payments and Participant Support
We believe people who complete legitimate assignments according to the agreed requirements deserve to be treated fairly and paid according to the applicable terms.
If you experience a missing payment, an unresolved issue, or believe you haven't received what you were promised, please contact help@commentquest.com.
We take payment concerns seriously and will review legitimate issues and work to resolve them as quickly as possible.
We're constantly improving our support processes as the community grows, and we appreciate participants who help us identify where we can do better.
10. Reviewing and Reporting Violations
Every assignment is expected to meet our standards before being made available.
If an assignment is reported as potentially violating these rules, we commit to investigating the concern and pausing the assignment where appropriate.
Confirmed violations may result in the assignment being cancelled, the responsible participant being suspended, or the relevant moderator or community being removed from our network.
We also review what went wrong to reduce the chances of similar issues happening again.
If you see something suspicious, please don't complete the assignment. Report it.
We would much rather investigate a concern that turns out to be harmless than overlook something that could put a community or participant at risk.
11. Working With Reddit and Addressing Concerns
We respect Reddit's policies, its administrators, and the independence of the communities that make the platform valuable.
We openly invite Reddit administrators, Trust & Safety teams, moderators, and anyone with concerns about CommentQuest to contact us directly at help@commentquest.com.
We want to maintain an open and constructive relationship with Reddit.
If Reddit identifies an issue with an assignment, a participating community, or any activity associated with our network, we are fully committed to investigating and addressing it.
We are also happy to cooperate with Reddit's teams when it comes to identifying malicious actors, prohibited promotional activity, or attempts to exploit communities through our platform.
Where appropriate and legally permitted, we can share relevant information about confirmed violations and the actions we've taken.
We commit to respecting Reddit's enforcement decisions and will never knowingly assist anyone in circumventing platform restrictions.
We don't claim that every process is perfect, but we are fully committed to making CommentQuest a responsible platform that contributes positively to the Reddit ecosystem.
We welcome constructive criticism, direct feedback, and suggestions for improving our safeguards.
If something we're doing creates a problem, we want to know about it and fix it.
Our goal is to work with Reddit communities, not against them.
12. Our Commitment to the Reddit Community
We're Reddit users, creators, and moderators who spend a huge amount of time building and participating in communities.
We understand how much work goes into growing a subreddit, and we care about protecting the communities we've helped build.
We believe Reddit is one of the most valuable places on the internet precisely because of the people who contribute to it.
We want CommentQuest to help more communities grow without compromising the trust that makes Reddit special.
That means listening to feedback, taking responsibility when something goes wrong, and continuously improving how we operate.
Community safety will always matter more than short-term growth.
If you're a Reddit administrator, moderator, creator, participant, or simply someone who has concerns about our platform, we'd genuinely love to hear from you.
